What's The Difference Between Rock, Metal, and Punk?
For some people who are not too familiar with loud music, maybe they are a little difficult to distinguish about the genres contained in the loud music.
Usually when they listen to loud music, lay people will find it easier to say and conclude if "oh that's rock music, right?"
even though in hard music there are several genres and it's genres also divided into sub-genres.

First, rock. rock is the oldest genre among the three genres above. in short this genre was greatly raised and popularized by Elvis Presley around the 60s.

the nuances of the music presented by metal are fairly hard. the combination of drums with double pedals, heavy guitar effects, and sometimes combined with scream and growl vocals makes this music tends to be difficult for ordinary people to enjoy. but, once I like metal music, it's easy to understand and enjoy these music beats.
the lyrics that metal music serve are very diverse but usually metal songs have lyrics that tend to use majas, poetic words, ideology, religion, and many even associate metal song lyrics with elements of satanism

Punk, the growth of punk music was very much influenced by the movements of young rebels from England with their skinhead movements. what they stand for at that time is about justice, prosperity, and freedom. they are also mostly anti-government groups. they show resistance through acts of vandalism, eccentric appearance, and music. from there punk music began to grow.
like the struggle and movement, the lyrics in punk songs certainly contain a lot of social criticism,
